Today I am looking at a magical program called Hyperbole. What I am going to do today is giving you just a brief overview of the program, show you how you can install it, and talk briefly about some of it features. I will be doing some subsequent videos as well looking at the program and its features in more detail.
Let me begin with a brief overview.
GNU Hyperbole is an efficient, programmable hypertextual information management system.
It is a suite that consists of five parts:
Buttons and Smart Keys,
Contact and Text Finder,
Screen Control,
Hypertextual Outliner,
Programming Library
Hyperbole is an interesting program because it builds on one's existing knowledge of Emacs and so the more you know about Emacs the more you can do with it. In Hyperbole it's so simple that a beginner can benefit from it, but it also offers a wide array of features for advanced users. One of the lovely things about it is that it's a program that fades into the background and uses the invisible power of <(existing text)> in your emacs configuration and so you'll be working in emacs and utilising the power of hyperbole without even it being obvious that you are doing so because it works in the background and is unobtrusive.
Version 8 release
The maintainers of this program are on the verge of releasing a major version, version 8, which includes many changes to the program, updates and a number of significant new features. You can easily install the program. I have provided for you here the different ways you can install it, depending on the package manager you use.

To test that the program has been properly installed one would invoke control h h and you will see this easily accessible and unobtrusive menu appear in your mini buffer. On the left hand side we have the version number of hyperbole which is currently version 8.
